Emotional intelligence is something that is often over-looked in society but our understanding of human emotions and how we relate and react to our emotions will greatly influences the way we act, perform and behave. Learning to be watchful of our emotions and not colour them or label them as positive or negative is one of the first stages of liberating oneself from the entrapment of negative emotional patterns. Why do certain athletes manage to perform and compete in a consistent way, and some athlete’s performance vary from event to event even when the physical and physiological profiling is the same between athletes? This is a complex question, but one reason is emotional intelligence. Here we are sharing our understanding of the correlation between positive emotion, high function and consistent performance.
